“The congregation in which we are members, Evangelical Reformed Church United Church of Christ, has supported the emergency shelter for years, and several years ago Bob had the opportunity to participate on the strategic planning committee of the Board of Directors of the Religious Coalition as they were evaluating options for serving families experiencing homelessness. However, that program of moving families from church to church was far from ideal and the present opportunity to provide a permanent space for this program is. The current plan of combining temporary housing in a location that is close to jobs and transportation while also providing wrap-around social services seems to be the ideal approach to getting families back into permanent homes. It also impresses us as being the next logical and faithful step in the Coalition’s expansion of services.” – Rev. Esther and Mr. Robert Ziegler
